The profile of the society was raised at the recent Chiswick Calendar party when our chair was one of the the people presented with a CRAP (Chiswick Residents Active Participation) award by our MP Andy Slaughter. Bridget Osborne, editor of the Chiswick Calendar said that “We make the awards to people who have done something that makes Chiswick a better or more interesting place to live, and over the years we’ve been doing it, awards have gone to people in the arts and community groups as well as to individuals who have made a difference.”

Marie says she felt honoured to be given an award alongside well-known local heroes, Andy Mayo station manager of Chiswick RNL! and the much-admired councillor, John Todd. She used the opportunity to highlight our recent campaign on Gunnersbury Station and said that, true to our Viking connections, Gunnersbury Groundlings were accustomed to the long haul.
